Sheffield Community Land Trust - Monthly general meeting.

Imagine a world where you and your friends are free to democratically create community led housing to live in genuinely affordably accommodation over the long term. Imagine a future of different housing ownership models. By using community land trusts and mutual equity systems and a vehicle this is possible.

Sheffield CLT is a community of volunteers and passionate people with a plan to solve the housing crisis in Sheffield. Our mission is simple; we want to make Sheffield one of Europe's most livable cities and ensure everybody has a high quality, genuinely affordable home and the benefits of a thriving community. We also plan to build community centers and common facilities which increase quality of life for all. Let’s make this dream a reality together.

The SCLT has been making great progress with it’s plans, political and educational activities over the last few months. We currently have members meetings every two weeks but we have now decided to have monthly general meetings as a touchpoint for people who want to contribute to the project and it’s development. The general meetings are open to both members and the public as a general open co-operative format. Those who want to be involved with building a new community land trust network, or are interested in becoming a member of the core working group are invited to attend.

Help we need.
-People with existing community connections to have conversations and build members with residents.
-People interested in developing new CLT initiatives.
-People knowledgeable of funding and bid wrtiting.
-Community organizers who want to help build policy proposals for the local council.
-Researchers involved in community led housing or relevant research areas.
-People with Architectural knowledge and interest, urbanists and built environment enthusiasts.
-People previously engaged in mutual, co-operative and community projects who would like to transfer this to Community Land Trusts.
-Young people with ambition and old people with experience (with ambition too).
